Bio
Jeanie Caggiano loves nothing more than a hard problem. She currently holds a dual role: EVP/Executive Creative Director at Leo Burnett Chicago and Creative Lead at GroupeConnect, the Publicis Groupe "Power of One" agency for Bank of America.
She heads a creative team of more than 60 across Leo Burnett Chicago and Digitas Boston, and serves on GroupeConnect's Executive Leadership Team. In just a couple of years, she’s repositioned Bank of America from a fusty, traditional bank to the leader in helpful digital tools with “Can’t Stop Banking”, revived the Merrill Lynch brand with “Bullish,” overhauled organic social to leverage the Bank's expertise in a more human way, and much more.
A writer by trade, Jeanie created UnitedHealthcare’s humorous “Ways In” brand campaign, which won Gold at Cannes Health Lions. In addition to leading creative on UHC, she was also the Account Lead for six years. During that time, she oversaw UHC's highly successful Medicare Advantage recruitment campaigns, which increased sales as much as 30% per year. She also led Leo Burnett’s successful pitch for parent company UnitedHealth Group and later, sister company Optum.
But Jeanie is probably best known for her work on Allstate, both the charming and destructive Mayhem and the “Our Stand” campaign, featuring actor Dennis Haysbert. She's also created memorable and award-winning work for Hallmark Cards, Feeding America, McDonald's, Disney, Exclusive Resorts, Peace One Day, and many, many more.
She finds working in the health care space especially rewarding. Jeanie’s worked in many parts: health insurance, Pharma (her Prozac campaign for Eli Lilly was one of the first campaigns in the market after the FDA approved direct-to-consumer advertising), Over-the-Counter (her Rx to OTC switch of Nexium for Pfizer was not only the biggest ever, it was also noted by IRI as the “#1 CPG launch of 2015”), and Consumer Goods (she won her first Gold Lion for beinggirl.com, a Procter & Gamble website created by Tampax and Always.)
Jeanie is also a cancer survivor: you can read her humorous, unfiltered take on the experience here.
With 15 Lions to her name, as well as a long list of other awards, Jeanie was a member of the 2016 Cannes Lions Outdoor Jury. She has also judged film and direct at the One Show, chaired the OBIE Awards, judged London International (Film and Health), the Facebook Awards and many more.
She has a Bachelor’s in Speech and a Master’s in Advertising from Northwestern University, where she was recently honored as a member of the Medill Hall of Achievement. Jeanie is also a wannabe ballerina who has taken class a few times every week for decades. She lives on Chicago’s North Shore with her husband, Jerry, her children Zoe and Enzo, and the family’s English Bulldog, Exie, who may just have saved her life.
